Las Vegas Chinese Christian Church (LVCCC) is a non-denominational Christian Church established in 1996, with a congregation of about 150 members. The English congregation was established in 2021. The church offers Sunday worship services in Chinese and English separately, and various fellowships including Mandarin fellowship, English fellowship, Cantonese fellowship, etc. The church is located 8 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. Clark county and the greater Las Vegas area has a vast gospel field of Chinese American population more than 53,000.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of a full-time English Pastor is to lead the English Ministry and the Youth Ministry.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Coordinate Sunday worship services and deliver Sunday sermons.

• Oversee English and youth Sunday schools.

• Plan and develop English and youth ministries to fulfill LVCCC's vision and mission.

• Provide spiritual counseling and support to members of the English congregation.

• Help members to strengthen personal relationship with God and foster spiritual growth of Christian faith-seekers.

• Provide discipleship training and mentorship to the English congregation.

• Train and mentor volunteers and lay leaders for the English and Youth ministries.

• Develop and implement evangelical outreach programs.

• Support churchwide initiatives, participate in committees as appointed, and collaborate with the Chinese congregation.

• Participate and collaborate with church leadership, attend board meetings, and maintain church unity.

• Provide Holy Sacraments including holy communion, baptism, matrimony, memorial service as well as seasonal celebrations (e.g., Easter, Christmas).

• Evaluate English ministries and develop strategies to grow the congregation.

• Meet and greet visitors to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for people of diverse backgrounds.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must meet the qualifications of a church leader as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1: 5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4. Additional requirements include:

• a MDiv Degree or equivalent from an accredited evangelical theological seminary.

• 2+ years of pastoral experience, preferably, leading English or Youth ministry in a Chinese Church.

• A clear calling from God for pastoral ministry.

• Submit to the truth of the Bible and align with the LVCCC Statement of Faith (https://www.lvccc.org/church-bylaw/ ).

• Strong knowledge of the Bible and strong teaching skills.

• Passion for shepherding and caring for the Youth and English congregation.

• Fluent in English with excellent communication and public speaking skills, with bilingual Chinese/English preferred.

• Able to work together as a team to achieve a spiritual goal.

• Ability to relate and build relationships with church members from various socio-economic/educational backgrounds.

• Administrative skills as related to the English and Youth ministries.

The salary range for this position depends on the candidate's qualifications and ministry experience.
